Unfortunately, a couple of days ago, I had another hard drive crash. However, me being a really ace person managed to salvage the JD directory
on my HD, so I kept the source code etc. I then realised that the website hadn't been updated for a while, which is
why the dates on this entry and the previous one are so far apart. During this time, NetDOCK-2 has been completed, all of my AMOS
products have (finally) been compiled and everything should now be updated. I got a bit of criticism about this site, with people saying it looked too much like the site I designed for my school, so we are currently updating it. I've also stopped using Free-Online.net as an ISP, because they are crud. I hardly ever connect, so I am now using Freeserve all the time, and might I just say here that I haven't had any problems whatsoever (and that wasn't sucking up.) Andy has changed his ISP again. He is now on with Tesco.net. His email address is now andy.manufan@tesco.net. That's about it. |

The site goes through another update again, and a new division of Joker Developments is formed, FX Software. The FX Software website will take
over distribution of all JD Games previously released. The FX Website will eventually be stored on this webspace, but is being designed at the
moment. Keep your eyes open for a new link in the links frame :) JD/FX have started work on a new game, provisionally titled Duke Pukem. It is sort of based on the Duke Nukem 2D game structure, with a few subtle differences. Instead of shooting the aliens, you eat curries, kebabs, etc. and build up Puke Power and eventually you let it all go over the aliens, and melt them. Guns may be included in the game. Depends if we feel up to it :) Satanic Dreams Software, of which Gareth is a member, have started work on a new commercial product for the AMiGA. Titled 'Minimum Safe Distance' it is a realtime Worms type game, and is looking to be really good. There are already a few ideas floating about for weapons etc. If you think you have an idea, send Gareth a mail at his address and he will forward it to the SDS team :) |

Minor changes to the site. The guestbook and signup pages are improved, in
that the text comes to me in readable format (I hope) :) The JokerD mailing list is now on Listbot.com, so the subscription requests come to me, and then I subscribe you to the list. This process could take anything up to a week, so don't get alarmed. There are not many messages on the list anyway. The reason for this process is that Listbot.com does not support (as far as I can tell) an e-mail subscription facility. |

Added the members section to the About JD page.
This will contain all members of JD, including future ones. We have already
had one person sign up, even if the program he was using wouldn't let him
send the form. His name is Christopher Maggs, and he is now a member of
JD. A person named Andre Lorbach expressed a positive interest in HDPP v2.0 I may consider making it Shareware, as it is a rather good program :) The guestbook and signup pages do NOT come to me in a readable format, so maybe I'll just have to write a program which deciphers the form text into a readable format. That might be useful, do you think I should make it shareware? :)) Fixed two broken links discovered by myself. They pointed to the old signup page, called members.html. The page is now called signup.html, so this now has been fixed. The JokerD mailing list has changed again! It is now called JD-FX and is hosted by eGroups.com. To send a message to the list, you need to be a member, so subscribe now, by either visiting the signup page, or send a blank email (subject also blank) to jd-fx-subscribe@egroups.com |

Added the counter, and updated various parts, mainly the news page and the
members section. The Duke Pukem test engine is coming along nicely. :) |

Just a few minor updates, I've included Andy's mobile number on the About
JD page, and I am currently reworking the products page. From the time the
new page is completed, the games products will only be on the FXSoftware
site, and the utilities (like NetDOCK-2) will be on the JD page. Work has been temporarily stopped on Duke Pukem, to make room for Reservoir Dogz 3D. Yes, that's right! Work has started on a 3D engine, and this will form the basis for a new Doom-style game based on the film Reservoir Dogs. More news as it happens. |

So much for updating the site daily :). This update doesn't really update much. The news page
has been updated to include this news (is that recursion?) :-) and a couple of banners have been
added to the Home page. These banners are linked to the Satanic Dreams homepage, and the product
information for their latest project, Minimum Safe Distance. MSD is a new commercial game
for the AMiGA computer, being worked on by most of the Satanic Dreams members (I myself will be doing
the documentation when it is required). The basic premise of the game is similar to Worms, but with one
not-so-subtle difference... It's in Real-time. Yes, that means no more turn-based carnage, just pure blasting and killing. The project is about 40% complete so far and boasts a massive 40 weapons, with add-on packs to follow. More news on MSD as it happens :) Also, work has begun on Crimewave, a new Grand Theft Auto clone for the AMiGA. This project is being worked on by Joker Developments, and will be ready (hopefully) by mid-2000. The delay is simply because Gaz has to learn some new skills to do the game :) Meanwhile, Reservoir Dogz 3D is still being worked on. The project is not very far into production at the moment, but the 3D engine will hopefully be done around the same time as Crimewave is finished. This is because of two reasons:
1: Coding a 3D engine takes time, even with the help of a shared library! I also added a few more links to the table on the Other Links page. |
